Has lived and traveled the world and though a new resident of Maryland, is no stranger to the Washington Metropolitan Area. Wendy moved to Maryland on assignment under the United States Army however prior to her move she owned Transitions Yoga and Dance Studio in Sterling, Virgina. During the ten years as director she served as the Vice President of DCTribal and sister facilitator to P.U.R.E.'s DC chapter. Wendy performed frequently for private gatherings, weddings, corporate events, festivals, and was requested to perform for the Bollywood awards held at the Lisner Auditorium, Washington D.C. as well as the annual Artomatic festival. In addition to her work at Transitions, she instructed regulary at World Gym (Sterling & Leesburg, VA), The Studio (Middleburg, VA) and Loudoun County Hospital's Birthing Inn . She often instructed workshop intensives including the annual Summer Solstice Sadhana Celebration in the mountains of New Mexico while some of her most endearing endeavors included sharing ABC Yoga with children at her sons' elementary school, teaching young ladies to dance at the Girl Scout Camp in Reston, VA and facilitating yoga for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
She began her journey teaching aerobics and personal training while earning her Baccalaureate Honors Degree in Sports Medicine at the University of North Carolina which required over 2000 hours of in and out patient physical therapy/ athletic training internship. Wendy's instructional approach incorporates knowledge and experience gained through her formal education and complementary training. Having trained with a variety of professionals, she holds certifications in both Yoga and Dance; her most notable studies have been under: (See List on Right)
Additionally she recently earned a Master's Degree in International Relations and Conflict Resolution, graduating with distinction, and is working towards a second degree in Middle Eastern Studies. Her interest in world peace and Non-Violent Communication inspired her to facilitate an Eckhart Tolle group in VA. Wendy was named "Visionary Goddess/Vishva Devi" by *Raji Thron...She envisions a world where awareness of the body, mind, and spirit is balanced between self, family, community, and humanity.
